1 picture and 1 video

1 picture and 1 video. That's it. An entire week of fun with people I love and miss all of the time and all I got was 1 picture and 1 video. I wish I had taken a picture of the look on Grandpa's face at the 7:00 Cowgirl game when Kaylee surprised him with a hug that he didn't think he was getting until 10:00. (at the last minute I told Matt I really wanted to get there in time for the game. He was awesome to get done what he needed to to leave work early and I picked up the girls from school--it was great!) I wish I could take a picture of staying up every night 'till at least 1 AM talking and watching tv/home videos--I wish I had taken those pictures, but I think I was always the first one in and out of sleep. I wish I had taken pictures of the cutest baby ever that had shots the day before we left and so pretty much slept through the whole week. I wish I had taken pictures of the cutest baby's 3 older sisters that played so amazing together the entire week! The girls only got to play with 2 of their cousins this week and I wish I had taken pictures of that! We sure love Jackson and his family!! I wish I had taken pictures of the great deals we found on Christmas presents for the girls. Those pictures will have to come later. And I should (but I won't) take a picture of my happy face saying we are done with Christmas shopping!!
I wish I had taken pictures of the other 2 basketball games Matt and I got to go to with Mom and Dad and no kids. Wyoming (1 girls game and 2 boys games) was 3 for 3 at home this week!! I wish I could have captured that in a picture! I wish I had taken pictures of us swimming, but it is always too cold to get out of the pool. We were going to go twice that day but stayed too long the first time and wore ourselves right out! Uncle Dale was THE MAN!! I wish I had a picture of him finally getting Emily to go down the slide. We knew that once she did she would love it and keep going over and over again. I did steal a Settlers picture though. That looks like the longest road I stole from you Dale. ;)
I wish I had taken pictures of my pregnant sister staring at the boxes that needed to be moved from their apartment to their new house. I wish I had pictures of all of the amazing food that my Mom worked non-stop (mostly on her birthday) to make!! (I was too busy eating it to take pictures) Mom, as I watched you this week I realized once again that you never stop! You are always going! You are always serving us and everyone around you. In church on Sunday while you were teaching those sweet little Sunbeams we were learning about serving others and first building those relationships of trust. Someone said it may take months to build those relationships. Dad turned to me and said, "Not for Mom. She can walk into someone's home and meet them for the first time and right away they know she is someone they can trust." Right away they know you are a true friend and someone they can turn to. I love you Mom!! Thanks for all that you did for us this week!!
I stole the above picture too! How could a picture ever capture how wonderful it was to sit for 45 minutes in this empty arena with my Dad? And why couldn't someone have taken, not a picture but a video of Saturday's away game so we could've watched the zone defense that we saw the girls practice on for so long? I love you Dad!! Those 3 hours in the gym were awesome! We probably should've grabbed a ball because that is where I need to be off to now--practicing for my first real high school basketball game since....well....high school. This could be interesting!
So, Mom, I know you are usually behind the camera. I hope you don't mind that my 1 picture and 1 video are of you and your birthday party!! We really had such a fun week and I do wish I had taken more pictures. I am sure you all wish I had too so that you could see them instead of having to read my long I wish list. I love being "home" with my family, but we loved coming back "home" too! Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!!
