Taylor

Next is Taylor! I can't believe she is done with first grade! I remember being so nervous about her being gone all day. She has grown up so much this year! She still LOVES gymnastics and just made the team! She is actually pre-team now. Competition doesn't start 'till the fall so she has to prepare for that, but she has had so much fun! She is excited to move up and that her dear friend gets to move up too! They have a fun group and great coaches!

We really loved Taylor's first grade teacher and the friends she had in that class! Their first grade program was super fun! It is always fun going to those programs and seeing all of the little neighbor kids!! They all did so great! We will sure miss Taylor's teacher--we had fun making a quillo for her too! I sure love Taylor's smile when she is doing what she loves! I can't wait to have her around all summer too!

Kaylee

We have all had a busy and exciting spring! The three older girls did amazing in their choir performances which I will post about after I do a spring post for each kid. First I'll start with Kaylee. Kaylee did cheer for a few months and had a lot of fun! Most of the video I took was too long to post here, but we did get one short one. She starts baseball next week and will do a day of gymnastics each week too. Kaylee had an awesome 2nd grade year! I remember how excited we were when we found out that she would get to be in a class with 2 of her very best friends! We LOVE these girls and are sad that one is moving this week, but we know we will still see her all of the time! (at the end of the last video she pats Kaylee on the back--LOVE that girl--We already miss having her so close) These girls had the most adorable teacher! She was so great for Kaylee! (we had fun making a quillo for her) Below is a video from her 2nd grade performance. She wrote a persuasive paragraph about why kids should be aloud to drive cars! Kaylee made the A.L.L. (accelerated learning lab) program which means she will go to a different school next year that is about 10 minutes away. We were a little nervous about her being in a different school than her sisters and her friends, but when we met her new teacher, saw her new classmates, and saw the activities they will be doing and the style of learning we were all very excited! I think this will be the perfect fit for Kaylee! Kaylee is growing up too fast for me. She is such a huge help to me and we have the best talks! I can't wait to have her around this summer!

Wearing down I80

May never fails to be as busy as ever. There are so many projects and activities that are winding down and we all must travel and get to as many things as we possibly can. On May 1st, the girls and I took a day trip to Rock Springs, WY. I was glad to spend some time with my 3 oldest. I know that lately they haven't gotten the attention they need because the other 2 seem to steal it all. We had a lot of fun watching their cousin in a gymnastics exhibition, going out to dinner, and then seeing Dale perform in The Music Man! He was amazing!!

The next weekend we had my sister, her husband and baby Oakley come and visit. They were in town for a wedding and then we got to hang out with them Friday night and Saturday. Kaylee was very excited that Aunt Abby got to watch her cheer leading pep rally and then they were so nice to come to our ward talent show right after. The next morning we woke up and took Oakley to the zoo! We also went swimming that afternoon. The girls love their cousin Oakley. He is growing up way too fast!!

The weekend after that (May 14, 15 and 17) the girls had their Lehi Children's Choir performances. Both my parents and Matt's parents were able to come and watch. Uncle Dale also came. He was the choreographer for the older choir so he was excited to see both groups.

My family was able to stay the night then go bowling and play some games. Dad was killing us in bananagrams....until we saw the words he spelled. What?! You mean you can't just make up your own words and your own spellings?

Then last Sunday we again took the 2 1/2 hour trek to Rock Springs to be with my sister's family as her husband was called to be the Bishop of their ward. We debated on whether or not we really needed to go, but WOW! I am so glad that we did! DJ and David sang a song together and then they each spoke. It was a very powerful meeting. My little sister has always been such an example to me! I was in a meeting recently where Sister Dalton, the General Young Women's president, talked about women being "refined, lovely and elect". As DJ stood up there as the Bishop's wife those 3 words came to mind, as well as graceful, meek, humble and beautiful! Sure, I suppose the whole weekend was about David, I mean Bishop Stauffer...and the words he spoke were also incredible, but these two as a team will do amazing things! We love you guys and we were so blessed to have been there! Hopefully you can find time to come see us soon! (mostly cause I'm sad I didn't get any pictures of your cute kiddos) :)

May is almost done, school is almost out and summer is almost here. The blog will be hoppin' with cheer leading, choir, gymnastics and school programs. Yikes!! I don't know how I'll ever keep up!

Ward Parties!

I think I could get used to having a ward party every week! I love being with our ward family! Week 1 was the Elder's Quorum pinewood derby! Week 2 was the Primary Talent Show! Week 3 is the Relief Society dinner on Thursday!

I'm sure you can just feel the intensity as you look at the next pictures. This is serious business!

Originally Matt was going to be the only one to race his helicopter powered car. (There is a free-for-all race) But then the girls really wanted to do one too! We came home with 2 awards and 2 packages of oreos. Emily's car won the "safest" (slowest) car and Matt's contraption won the fastest!

And isn't that the cutest pit crew ever?! Kaylee (not pictured) and her friends did a great job of cleaning the church afterward!

The talent show was Friday the 7th. We got there a little late because of Kaylee's cheerleading pep rally that I'll post about later. The videos of the girls performances didn't turn out great, but I did get these 2 pictures below. Check out that form!! We LOVE our primary presidency!

Thanks to everyone involved in the many activities going on! Our family sure looks forward to seeing everyone!
