Lehi Roundup

Parade, parade and more parades! What a fun week! I really wish I had taken more pictures! Kelly and Heather you girls have me hooked! This blog thing is going to be fun, and so I'm sure I'll be taking many more pictures and even videos. This video is the last couple of seconds of my first 5K race ever! I ran it in 28:45! Matt thought he was taking a picture, but it was accidentally set to video mode. I wish he had kept taping as I ran across the finish line, but I'm sure he was in panic mode thinking, "My wife is going to kill me for not getting a picture of this." My poor husband. He is so wonderful! He had all four girls at the race by 7 to watch me cross the starting line and the finish line. (I need to figure out how to get pictures off of my cell phone--there is a great one of the girls) It meant so much to me to have them all there!

Anyway, we spent the whole week with friends and neighbors. Sunday and Monday nights we went to Wines Park for music and entertainment. Tuesday night was watching "Alvin and the Chipmunks" on a big screen at the baseball fields. Thursday was the horse parade and the rodeo! The girls loved that! Matt was in heaven (although I am sure that heaven doesn't smell that bad). I know Matt dreams of the day he can watch his girls barrel race. Friday was another parade and Saturday was the 5K, breakfast at the park and even another parade. Somewhere in there we fit a couple of birthday parties and swimming at the scera pool. I also had young women's on Tuesday night (climbing the rock wall!) and BOOK CLUB on Wednesday! I love my book club girls! For now I think you are the only ones looking at my new blog. ;) I need to invite my family now that I kinda think I have the hang of this. I still need someone to teach me all of the tricks though.

Okay, that's it for now--my family needs dinner! I love this last picture though! I love this country! Aren't we so blest?! I love this time of year with the fairs, rodeos, parades and fireworks. A really good friend of mine lost her brother a year ago in Iraq. She was sitting across the street from us at the parade on Saturday. I watched her smile as the flags went by. She was holding her new little boy who was named after her brother. For his funeral they asked me to arrange and play a piano solo with How Great Thou Art and America, The Beautiful! I get to play it for them again during a special Sacrament Meeting on July 13th. Putting those two songs together was so very appropriate. It was incredible to see the family obey the amazing protocol of the US Army, but yet share their testimony of a Father in Heaven who knows and loves us and this country. Happy 4th of July everyone!! We hope it will be a special time. I'm sure I'll have pictures for you next week of camping trip number 2.

I'm so glad you are blogging! I must add you to my list of crazy friends. It's so great to see you and your fun family. Congrats on the race! I love to run! Come here and run the 1/2 marathon with me some year. It can be a vacation. I love the music you have on your blog - I've never heard that song before ("You're Gonna Miss This") but I love it. I'll need to add it to mine too. Have a great day and keep up the blogging!

Yeah!!!!! Kandice! I'm so excited to find you! We have been wondering how you guys have been doing for a long time. Thanks for leaving a comment! And I totally feel like your mom sometimes with how much I get the kids on video.

Thanks for your comments girls. I don't know if I should comment here or just continue to blog. Do you have conversations in your comment pages? I'll have to look at other blogs more. I have thought a ton about doing a 1/2 marathon. I have some friends that are doing one the end of August in Logan. It still seems so overwhelming to me though. I have never run more than 3 1/2 miles. Running for more than 40 minutes sounds so scary. We do need to take a vacation to Lander though--we've been talking about it for years.

Ginger I still can't believe your blog about my mom. Have you read it yet DJ? That was the best! I'm so excited to keep reading more. Tell Loren hello!!

Sometimes we have conversations on the same blog or sometimes we leave a reply on the other person's blog - whatever works. :) Or sometimes we answer questions just over email. You'll have to look at my "happy birthday kristi" post because I talk about you, Julie, and Candace. We must go to the Corona Village again sometime. Candace moved to Worland, but we can still figure out a get-together somehow! I ran into Julie in Riverton's Walmart a month or so ago - what a surprise! She was just passing through and we happened to be there at the same time! I love blogging too -- it's just like free scrapbooking, and it takes up a lot less shelf space. Who of our other Laramie friends have blogs? We need to get Julie to start one.
